Building intercom network cable installation related
Release time:2020-03-18

When the building intercom system is installed and connected with the network cable, many users will have a problem: what arethe requirements of different installation conditions for the network cable? Why is it required to use category 5 or category 6 cable when installing? What's the difference between these two cables? Today, let's look at the difference between category six and category five.

1、 Attribute comparison

The transmission frequency of the five types of lines is 100MHz, and the most commonly used one is Ethernet cable. The five types of lines increase the winding density, and an insulating material is added outside, which is used for voice transmission and data transmission with the highest transmission rate of 100Mbps, mainly used for 100Base-T and 10Base-T networks.

As an upgraded version of ordinary Cat-5 line, super Cat-5 line has a transmission frequency of 100MHz and is mainly used for Gigabit Ethernet. The line has the characteristics of small attenuation and less crosstalk, and has higher ratio of attenuation to crosstalk, signal-to-noise ratio, smaller delay error, and greatly improved performance.

The transmission frequency of class VI line is 250MHz, which is the only choice for applications with transmission higher than 1Gbps, mainly used for Gigabit Ethernet. Compared with category 5 or super category 5 twisted pairs, category 6 twisted pairs not only add insulated cross frame, but also place four pairs of twisted pairs in four grooves of the cross frame, and the diameter of the cable is larger.

Super Cat 6 or 6A network cable is an improved version of Cat 6 cable. It is also an unshielded twisted pair cable specified in ANSI / EIA / tia-568b. 2 and ISO Cat 6 / E standard. It has a great improvement in crosstalk, attenuation and signal-to-noise ratio. The transmission frequency is 200-250 MHz, and the maximum transmission speed can reach 1000 Mbps, which is mainly used in the 10 Gigabit network.

2、 The difference between super five and six lines

One of the important differences between Cat 6 and super cat 5 is that they improve the performance of crosstalk and return loss. According to the length of transmission distance, the appropriate network cable shall be selected for the installation of community visual access intercom.

The thickness of wire core is different. The wire core of super-5 network wire is 0.45mm-0.51mm, and that of class 6 network wire is 0.56mm-0.58mm. In appearance, the wire core of class 6 network wire is much thicker than that of super-5 network wire. Therefore, in the demand of intercom installation in visual buildings, the installation of class VI lines is often in the place with high requirements.

The structure of the wires is different. The outer surface of super five kinds of nets has the mark of "cat. 5E", the most obvious of six kinds of nets is the "cross skeleton", and the outer surface is marked by "cat. 6".
